PDF und Blockchains
Although digitalization is on everyone’s lips, a huge number of documents continue to be published using the Portable Document Format (PDF) invented in 1993. The subsequent usability of PDF documents in digitalized processes is limited; however, PDF documents that have been digitally signed are very widespread.
This is an area where a lot can be learned from blockchain technology, in which content rather than a representation is digitally signed, making it independent of any particular representative format. As a result, the signed content can take on a responsive design, allowing it to be correctly reproduced in a way that is easily readable on both small smartphones and large screens.
